2019 Wrap Up

The Year 2019 was a success for Beyond Brothas! Thank you to all of you who participated in our efforts this year! 

A few fun fact from 2019
  • Beyond Brotha saw an estimated 230 participants at our events, well over 3000 with our partnership events
  • Our partnership with organizations such as Kind Clinic, ASP Cares, Waterloo Counseling, Out Youth, Community Advocacy and Healing Project, UT Gender and Sexuality Center and Multicultural Center has proved essential.
  • We have linked 29 Men of Color across our partner-network to services including Mental Health Counseling, Sexual Wellness, Relationship Building and Career Services.
  • We created the Brotha Board an advisory panel of individuals that span the diverse identities of Beyond Brotha. These key people will assist in the creation of events, suggest and implement best practices for our organization as well as recruit through engaging their networks to grow our group. What to join us? Being a Brotha is being more that just yourself, it is being a resource, a confidant and protector!
These are felt across all the POC spectrums and Beyond Brothas feels if you are a Brotha in one language, you are a Brotha to all of us!

The proceeds from these items go toward Beyond Brothas, an organization focused on creating safe and affirming spaces for men of color of all identities through meaningful collaboration and skill-sharing with a focus on the challenges they experience. Beyond Brotha produces and designs educational events and resources focused on mental and physical health and wellness. Beyond Brotha respects, curates, and archives the history, art, and lived experiences of and for men of color.
