F.A.Q for Beyond Brothas
If I don't RSVP, may I still show up?
While RSVP or notice that your coming is helpful, we generally make sure everyone is accommodated. The best way to do it is to show up early and just be waiting for us. Email us letting us know.
Is there a dress code?
There is no dress code to attend any BB event. We do encourage people to look neat but, if you're a basketball shorts and sneakers person, rock it!
I have a friend that isn’t Black/African American. Can they come?
Short answer, Yes! The idea of BB is to create a space where men of color can be unrestricted in conversations/actions that otherwise wouldn’t be understood by other men of non-color. We don’t want to create an environment of questions to be answered by the members. If your partner/friend is understanding that this space is for a us, they are welcome to come.
Why are you doing this?
Why wouldn’t we do this? We are men of color and completely know how hard it is to find quality people to know. This is a space for us to thrive and empower one another.
Do I have to be there at the start time?
Yes for Brunch - The tables reservations are made for this time and normally if we don’t have a full table we can’t sit. If we wait too long, we will reduce the size of the party and sit without the people missing. This will result in them having to wait for a table on their own. Just be on time.
No for social gathering (unless otherwise stated) - Our social gatherings are more “meet up” style. We have a time to be there and a time to start.
